Emily Fowler

Background and Experience at AIMS

Emily’s journey into healthcare started with a degree in public health, but she quickly realized she wanted a more hands-on role where she could make a direct impact on patient safety and care. After working in healthcare administration and hospitality, she found her passion in sterile processing, a field that perfectly combined her interest in clinical environments with her desire to improve outcomes behind the scenes.

Enrolling in the Sterile Processing Technician program at AIMS Education gave her the direction she was looking for. “Every interaction with staff was supportive and informative,” she says. Emily especially appreciated the hands-on instruction and the opportunity to tour a real sterile processing department. Her instructor's deep field experience helped her build a strong foundation, so strong that she left the program with over 120 surgical instruments memorized.

Her clinical internship proved equally valuable. Emily trained at JFK University Medical Center, where she gained real-world experience and insight into daily workflows and best practices in sterile processing.

Success After Graduation

Shortly after completing her internship, Emily was hired full-time at JFK University Medical Center’s sterile processing department. She credits AIMS Education for preparing her so thoroughly and giving her the confidence to step into her role.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the support I received and excited to keep growing in my career,” she says. For Emily, what began as uncertainty has led to a fulfilling and impactful role in healthcare.
