Ekta Patel
Background and Experience at AIMS
Ekta Patel has paved an inspiring path in the healthcare field, distinguished by her profound dedication and personal motivations. As the first in her family to enter the medical profession, her journey began from a deeply personal place. Witnessing her family’s struggles to access proper medical advice, and the tragic loss of her young nephew to heart complications, ignited her passion for cardiology.
Her academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree, followed by a Master’s degree in Cardiac Perfusion Technology. In her role as a perfusionist, Ekta had the privilege of working alongside a skilled heart surgery team during open-heart surgeries. Despite the invaluable experience, she yearned for more direct interaction with patients—desiring to listen to their concerns, alleviate their fears, and offer comfort during challenging times.
A significant turning point came in 2016 when an opportunity arose to move to the United States. With the steadfast support of her husband, she embraced the chance to further her education and transition into the role of a cardiovascular technologist. This career shift allowed her to engage more intimately with patients, employing her expertise to capture crucial images that aid in diagnosing and treating heart conditions.
Reflecting on her time at AIMS, Ekta speaks with heartfelt appreciation. Her experience at AIMS was marked by exceptional educational opportunities and unparalleled support. The CVT program director’s guidance, coupled with access to top-tier clinical sites, honed her patient care skills and opened doors for significant growth. The support from the AIMS team was instrumental, assisting her in preparing for her registry exam and securing her first position in the field.
