MRI Technology Students Visit Jersey Shore University Medical Center
Students from the MRI Technology program at AIMS Education College of Health Sciences recently participated in an enriching field trip to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. As part of their Introduction to Imaging Technology course, 18 students had the opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to a variety of imaging modalities and clinical workflows within a real-world healthcare setting.
The visit was designed to provide foundational knowledge and practical insights into diagnostic imaging. During their time in the Radiology Department, students observed a wide range of imaging technologies, including X-ray, CAT Scan, Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD), MRI, and cutting-edge systems such as the ZAP-X Gyroscopic Radiosurgery platform and Synaptive’s Brain-Only Silent MRI. These experiences allowed students to witness the integration of advanced technology in patient care and explore the diverse roles within the imaging field.

In addition to observing clinical procedures, students engaged with experienced technologists and radiology professionals who shared valuable career insights and personal experiences. These interactions helped students better understand the day-to-day responsibilities of imaging professionals and inspired them to pursue excellence in their future careers.
The visit was made possible through the generous support and hospitality of Patrique Larco and Antony DePinto, whose guidance and coordination were instrumental in creating a meaningful learning experience. AIMS Education extends its heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Jersey Shore University Medical Center for welcoming our students and supporting their educational journey.
