Affiliated with the prestigious Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, the University Hospital is one of the premier healthcare facilities in New Jersey, and the eastern seaboard. Designated as one of only three Level 1 Trauma Centers in New Jersey, this facility provides the highest possible level of surgical care to trauma patients.

The University Hospital has been recognized for quality care and state-of-the-art facilities by organizations ranging from the American Heart Association to the US News & World Report. In addition to accolades for all-around quality, UH has been recognized for especially high performance in Orthopedics, Nephrology, and Ear, Nose, and Throat Care.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - New Brunswick

Nestled in historic New Brunswick, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in central New Jersey, and part of one of the largest health care systems in the state.

RWJUH New Brunswick is renowned for its cancer-treatment facilities, as the flagship Cancer Hospital of Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.  The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer has recognized the quality of this hospital, and rated RWJUH as one of the nation's top comprehensive cancer-treatment centers.

Boasting awards for superior oncology facilities, comprehensive stroke care, and excellence in nursing, it's no wonder that RWJUH has made US News & World Report's list of "America's Best Hospitals" for five consecutive years.

Slightly larger than Newark's University Hospital, with 687 beds, Morristown Medical Center is one of the most prestigious teaching hospitals in New Jersey. Morristown has received regional recognition in the areas of cancer treatment, diabetes and endocrinology, and neurology, to name a few. Students interested in cardiology should pay particular attention to Morristown Medical Center, which consistently ranks as one of the best cardiology clinics in the entire country.

Interested in nursing care? Morristown is a Magnet Center for Excellence in Nursing, a designation that only 7% of hospitals worldwide have received. The hospital has received this important designation four times in a row, making this an ideal place to learn about superior nursing care.

Morristown Medical Center is also the official hospital of the New York Jets, which means you never know when your patient might be a pro-football player.

Monmouth Medical Center - Long Branch

A healthcare hub of southern New Jersey, Monmouth Medical Center is one of the premier hospitals in the lower half of the state, recognized as a regional leader in cancer, geriatric care, gynecology, and neurosurgery. Located just blocks from the world-famous Jersey Shore, Monmouth Medical also treats many of New Jersey's annual tourists.

Monmouth Medical Center is also a teaching hospital of Philadelphia's Drexel University, and part of the Barnabas Health Network. Known for embracing innovative care technologies, Monmouth Medical Center was an early adopter of robotic surgery and other minimally-invasive procedures.
