Syed AsifAli Zaidi's journey as a registered cardiac sonographer (RCS) and member of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) began when he enrolled in the Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (DCS) program at AIMS Education in 2018. He joined the program while working as a cardiac telemetry technician at Digital Diagnostics Inc., where he worked until 2022. The CAAHEP-accredited DCS program, which focused on adult echocardiography, provided Syed with the knowledge and skills he would later put into practice during his clinical internship and future career.

At AIMS, Syed had the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals like his program director and mentor, Kalpana Mahatpure, and the clinical coordinator for the DCS program, Shejal Desai. Syed appreciated the guidance and support he received from the AIMS faculty and administration, which he credits for his success in completing the DCS program and launching his career as an echocardiographer.

After completing his clinical hours at Riverview Medical Center and graduating from AIMS in 2020, Syed began working as an Echocardiographer at the Heart Center of the Oranges and JFK Medical Center. In March 2021, he was hired as a full-time echocardiographer at RWJBarnabas Health Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. It was at Community Medical Center where he received special recognition from RWJBarnabas Health for his outstanding service.

Syed's recognition from RWJBarnabas Health came after he provided exceptional care to a patient who was nervous about undergoing an echocardiogram. Syed explained the procedure in detail and helped the patient feel calm and relaxed. The patient was so grateful for Syed's support that she wrote an email expressing her thanks and gratitude to his supervisor and director of operations. The email eventually made its way to the president and CEO of RWJBarnabas Health, who wrote a letter of recognition and thanks to Syed.

In the letter, CEO Mark Manigan expressed his admiration and respect for Syed's dedication to taking care of others. He thanked Syed for being a one system, one family champion and applauded him for his commitment to the mission of making the communities RWJBarnabas Health serves healthier through clinical, academic, and social programs. The CEO also highlighted the importance of talented and dedicated individuals like Syed in the success of the health system and its mission.

Syed's recognition from RWJBarnabas Health is a testament to his professionalism, dedication, and compassion. His experience at AIMS Education prepared him well for a successful career as an echocardiographer, and his commitment to providing exceptional care to his patients is a shining example of the mission of RWJBarnabas Health.
