Dr. Sean Enis Leads Breast Imaging Lecture at AIMS
Students in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at AIMS Education recently had the opportunity to learn from board-certified radiologist Dr. Sean Enis during an engaging and insightful guest lecture on breast imaging. Dr. Enis, who specializes in breast and women’s imaging at New Jersey Imaging Network, delivered a dynamic session focused on how ultrasound and mammography work together to distinguish between benign and malignant breast lesions.
Using a mix of clinical pearls, case illustrations, and humor, Dr. Enis kept students captivated while breaking down complex diagnostic concepts. He guided students through the sonographic features and mammographic correlations of common and rare breast pathologies—including cysts, fibroadenomas, malignancies, abscesses, and Mondor’s disease. A central theme of the lecture was the importance of pattern recognition, especially in evaluating margin characteristics, shape, and orientation.
Dr. Enis emphasized how mammography and ultrasound serve as complementary tools, providing a more comprehensive diagnostic picture when used together. His real-world insights and approachable teaching style left a lasting impression on the class, reinforcing the critical role sonographers play in breast health diagnostics.
