New NDT Clinical Affiliation with Lehigh Valley Health
On July 9, 2025, AIMS Education took an exciting step forward in expanding clinical opportunities for students in the Neurodiagnostic Technology (NDT) program. Ron Abel, Clinical Coordinator for the NDT program, visited Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to solidify a new clinical affiliation with Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN).
During his visit, Mr. Abel met with Joann Coryell, BA, R.EEG T., CNIOM, the Neurodiagnostic Lab Manager, to review program requirements and discuss expectations for both students and clinical preceptors. The meeting included a detailed overview of the required clinical documentation, including the newly developed Student Action Plan.
This affiliation will provide AIMS students with valuable hands-on training across a diverse range of procedures, including Routine EEG, ICU EEG, Pediatric EEG, Ambulatory EEG, Long-Term Video Monitoring for Epilepsy, Evoked Potentials, and Nerve Conduction Studies. Students will also benefit from the hospital’s robust infrastructure—Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest is a major regional medical center comprised of multiple specialty buildings and services. The hospital recently became part of the Jefferson Health system when LHVN merged with Jefferson Health.
AIMS Education is proud to partner with organizations like LVHN that are committed to high-quality patient care and clinical education. This affiliation represents a significant opportunity for NDT students to gain experience in a high-volume, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Photos from the visit include members of the LVHN Neurodiagnostic Technology team and a snapshot of Mr. Abel with Joann Coryell. The AIMS community looks forward to the meaningful experiences this new partnership will provide for future NDT graduates.
